I've spent a lot of time speaking to women about their experiences with spirituality, but this month, I'm bringing you spirituality from a different yet critical perspective. That is that of the Divine Masculine. I thought there was no one better introducing this idea to you than with Master Artist Will Day.
Will is an American painter known for his large-scale compositions of colorful shapes and energetic marks. His process leads him to create paintings in a series, focusing on different nuances of the human experience.
Will started his journey as a young man with a finance career in the fast-paced world of Wall Street. "I wanted to be this amazing family guy that learned how to be an example for others through a lot of different things that weren't [me]. I was always creative. I always knew I could express myself, but I didn't know how to make a living [from it]. My journey was awoken when I was working in Wall Street, just got married, and then 9/11 occurred."
What is The Divine Masculine?
In spiritual conversations, I don't think we discuss the Divine Masculine as much as we discuss the Divine Feminine, and that is unfortunate because we each have aspects of both the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine, whether we are female or male.
Traits of the Divine Masculine include logic, reason, action, firmness, survival, loyalty, adventurousness, strength, and rationality.
Divine Masculine energies can be accessed by all of us, as it is action-based, focused on doing rather than being.
The only way we can genuinely balance our spiritual awakening is to integrate both sides of our nature as men and women. When you start living from your true self, your life begins to shift automatically.
Will dug into his Divine Masculine energy when he decided the next step toward his awakening was just about moving forward. "I started to paint, and painting was my way to interact with a whole new dimension that is out there, and it brought so many new relationships to the world that I never knew existed instead of me just having a 2D relationship with a person or human flesh."
Will says, "everybody has a wake-up call. It could be sickness, health money, divorce, whatever it is, but you have to learn how to find your journey, and that journey is sometimes harder than others."
